We couldn’t do anything right in the first half. Our defense was giving up open shots and we couldn’t block anyone out to get a rebound. Offensively, our passes were very weak and our motion offense was nonexistent. The coaching staff and myself were very disappointed with how we played in the first half of action.

I challenged the girls at half time to come out and play basketball like I want them to play. I wanted us to be a lot more aggressive on defense and be more patient on offense so we can get open shots.

In the second half, Jeanie Crabtree became unleashed. She put the team on her back and refused to have us lose this game. She put a lot of pressure on Alex’s young guards and created a lot of turnovers by herself. She got us into our offense, which lead to open shots and us getting back into the game.

We were able to tie the game early into the fourth quarter. After that, the lead exchanged hands for most of the quarter. With about 20 seconds left in the game we were down one. We set up a play and McKenzie Copper was able to make a 3 to give us the lead by two. Alex got a shot off at the end, but it came up short.
